I liquid wrapped my BMW 325i E90 in Raail AirWrap using the color “Punchin’ Peach” from DrPigment. This peel-able auto paint will last 3+ years, protect the factory paint, and peel off easier than vinyl. Here’s how I did it.

Â
MASK
We started with a car wash 24hrs before. We prefer Dawn Dish Soap. Then a quick wipe down with Raail’s Wrapsol to get rid of any smudges grease etc. Masking was quick and easy for this car using PlazMask for the windows, windshield, and roof. The rest was masked with solvent resistant paper and 3m yellow tape. All of which can be found in the Starter Kit.

Base
Since Punchin’ Peach is a lighter color, I will need to use a light grey base. I’m using a 60gal compressor and black widow HVLP gun with 1.7mm tip. This size car needs about 2gal of base coat before moving on to the color.Â

COLOR
The AirWrap Kit comes with two 8oz drop-in-tints of Punchin’ Peach color. These get mixed in to un-tinted AirWrap at a ratio of 80z per gallon. I then spray all 2gal down on the car so now theres a total of 4gal of product. The coating will be thick enough to provide adequate protection, last about 3 years, and still peel easily. AirWrap has a flash time of about 10-15min so it’s not a long wait for it to dry.

UNMASKING
Right after the last coat is sprayed I start unmasking while the paint is still drying. This lets me get a clean edge. The paint will be fully dry in about an hour. After a day or so I can even run it through the car wash or spray wax it. This coating is meant to be temporary and protect the factory paint underneath. Seeing as it’s my personal car I will most likely be switching it up again in a couple months. As always, everything used is listed below and if you are interested in getting your car wrapped give me a call!
